Red Velvet Holiday Cocktail Dress w/ Fur, Slip & Necklace for Cissy Doll
Greetings!
A newly created fashion for your vintage Cissy doll. This dress is created from a pattern I designed. Back story- I often search and admire mid-century fashions and styles. I came across an elegant black and white mid-century cocktail dress I thought would be great for Cissy. So I went about making a pattern of it for Cissy. The result is this lovely dress! ( A photo of the original human ‘50’s dress that inspired this creation for Cissy is pictured #8). I have made a couple of these dresses previously....but with this one I changed the color scheme to red for Christmas!
The red bodice is made with cotton velvet/velveteen. The sleeveless bodice is lined with red swiss cotton organdy. It closes in back with 4 square snaps accented with red rhinestone buttons. It has a flowing skirt made with sheer white chiffon. It has an attached red grosgrain waistband, and boxy style bow with long streamers. Comes with a detachable slip that has a waistband (vs elastic) and snaps in back. Also comes with a choker/necklace. It has one large round ruby rhinestone setting with double pearl strands, it closes in back with a magnetic closure (with my old fingers I find these easier to close in tight spaces like with chokers and bracelets). To keep the chill away from her shoulders it comes with a genuine white fur (not sure what type). The fur is a simple strand, about 1-1/2” inches wide. Fur is attached to plain white woven cotton piping. I did not line it. Simple but a pretty display!
Note that the skirt of this dress is a tad shorter than I normally make. It is about 7-1/4”. I generally shoot for about 8”
I am not taking any request at this time. Probably not for the remainder of the year.
